MicroInjection Therapy

We now offer transdermal needless mesotherapy.

Mesotherapy was invented, more than 50 years ago, in Europe by Dr. Pistor. His theory was that to treat a specific problem with medicine, the physician should get the medicine as close to the area he is treating as is possible. This was used in World War II by Allied Physicians to reduce pain in the wounded. The use of injections of the medicine directly into the condition or pathology. In the beginning he injected pain medicine into the dermis over the areas that were causing his patient's pain. The technique was called Mesotherapy. Dr. Pistor also felt "A little in the right place is enough." This is key to Mesotherapy, only a small amount of medicine, applied to the correct area, is needed. Oral medication requires large amounts of a drug because it must travel through the entire body in order to affect one specific area. This technique was steadily advanced and about 15 years ago Aesthetic Mesotherapy was developed. It is now a recognized subspecialty in Europe.

Numerous stars, models and other celebrities are his regular patients. Roberta Flak took her story of his treatment of her to television and newspapers around the country. Dr. Bissoon taught Dr. Tarsis, Dr Hartley Thomas, MD was trained by Dr Tarsis this program was used as a spring board to the Completly New and much improved program and technique of Dr. Hartley Thomas MD. who has brought it to the Northwest Indiana and the Tri State area. Calling it MicroInjection Therapy

Cellulite
There are numerous causes of cellulite. The treatable causes are:
1. Poor Circulation
2. Connective Tissue damage
3. Fat Herniation
4. Hormonal Imbalances
All four are interconnected.

* Decreased estrogen levels (in women as they grow older) lead to damage of the microcirculation (small blood vessels) to the fat and septa (fibrous tissue that holds fat in place).

* The septa (connective tissue) become weakened due to decrease blood flow, which reduces the oxygen and nutrients this tissue needs. This causes uneven contraction of the connective tissue. In this case, the fat leaks out or "herniates" causing the "cottage cheese" or dimpled appearance.

* Treatment has to be directed to the herniated fat. Hormonal therapy will not correct the Cellulite because it has already formed. MicroInjection Therapy applies the needed treatment right to the Cellulite and corrects the problem!

* Utilizing the specially prepared medication and special Needles, Dr. Thomas is able to correct Cellulite -both the dimples and cottage cheese appearance - of the Legs, Arms and actually anywhere on the body that cellulite forms.

Fat

Fat is the means by which the body stores energy. Today the word Fat means Too much stored energy. The causes are too numerous to present here but from the MicroInjection standpoint an explanation of the fat cell and how it forms or is removed is essential.

* Each fat cell has 2 "receptors" on its surface. Picture an infant's toy- a plastic ball with different shaped holes. Some holes are square, some triangular, some star shaped, etc. The child has to pick out the correctly shaped block and place into the matching hole.

* The fat cell is just like that ball.

* The a (alpha) receptor, when the right "block" is placed in it, tells the cell to make and store fat.

* The b (beta) receptor, when the right "block" is placed in it, tells the cell to remove fat.

* Therefore it is easy to get rid of excess fat - stimulate the b receptor and leave the a receptor alone! Sounds easy but it is not. All the things we love to eat fit perfectly into that a receptor - Sugar, Fats, Carbohydrates all stimulate the body to make fat. So what can you do?

Mesotherapy along with a proper diet and exercise is the way to remove unwanted fat. Diets low in Carbohydrates and Sugars reduce the stimulation of the a receptors. The appropriate medication placed in the appropriate areas will not only stimulate the b receptors, but will block the a receptors. Two effects for the price of one!

A very important point about MicroInjection Therapy and fat removal, although MicroInjection Therapy will remove fat, without changes in diet and exercise, it can be a very long and possibly fruitless therapy. This is true of all treatments of fat reduction - even liposuction.

Areas of Treatment

MicroInjection Therapy for Fat and Cellulite Reduction can be performed almost anywhere on the body. Cellulite is not confined to the legs but may also be found in the stomach area and very commonly on the upper arms. As such, they are excellent areas for Cellulite MicroInjection Therapy.

Fat Reduction MicroInjection Therapy is not confined to the trunk, legs and arms but can include jowls, double chins, puffy checks, and eyes.

Body Sculpting

Because of the precise placement of Medication via Mesotherapy, it is possible to sculpt the body. Appropriate medication will remove areas of fat from as large an area as the entire abdomen to as small an area as the skin of the lower eyelid. A specialized technique used by Dr. Thomas (taught to him by Dr. Tarsis) and Modified by Dr. Thomas results in tightening of skin after the fat has been removed. This tightening can greatly reduce the loose aging skin look of the Face, Chin, Arms and Stomach.
